CARMMA

Ai works with the African Union's Campaign for the Accelerated Reduction of Maternal, Newborn and Child Mortality (CARMMA). We have advised and collaborated on campaign strategy, identity, digital presence, resource design and the new continent-wide Mama Afrika Award.

Jubilee 2000

A worldwide campaign co-founded by Ann Pettifor which led to the cancellation by the G8 of about $100 billion of debt owed by 35 of the world’s poorest countries.

New Start Nigeria

Ai advised the Finance Minister of Nigeria and the Debt Management Office on a Europe and Asia-wide advocacy strategy in support of Nigeria’s claim for debt relief. In October 2005, Ann Pettifor was present at the French Treasury when the Paris Club of OECD creditors cancelled $18bn of debt owed by Nigeria.

Visit to London of the Minister for Women’s Affairs of Afghanistan

Ai advised the Hon. Minister Dr Husn Banu Ghazanfar on her visit to London in December 2010 and arranged for her to brief the media, British Ministers and Shadow Cabinet members, think-tanks and NGOs about the achievements of her Ministry for Women’s Affairs, and the priorities and challenges facing the Ministry.

Ai was commissioned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to review the state of pro-poor advocacy in low income countries .

Operation Noah

Advocacy International advised the UK church-based climate change campaign Operation Noah in the run-up to the 2009 United Nations Conference on Climate Change. Ai helped develop an advocacy and mobilisation campaign that lifted awareness of the climate change issue first amongst Christian communities within Britain, and then more widely.
